The leprechaun and the shamrock (from the Irish seamrog, little clover) are two symbols linked to Ireland.
St Patrick is thought to have used the shamrock as a metaphor for the Holy Trinity in the C5th.

(1) I always stop here and ask members of my audience whhat they’d wish for? Homes, cars, safaris, cruises are the usual answers. I’m usually dismissive of wishy-
(2) Here I always turn to the audience and ask: If you were Patrick, what would you do? Make your wife happy – and wish for a son? Or help your Mother and give her sight? Or would you listen to your Father and go for gold?
