What’s in a storyteller’s bag?
What I bring to each show varies greatly, depending on the audience and the number of tales I expect to tell. The younger/longer the show, the more I need to pack. This is what I carry for my 50-60 minute programme themed around food. Hover over the numbers to see what each one is used for.

I use 5 puppets to tell The Cake of Happiness - my Italian chef, Her Majesty, a clown with a hot-air balloon the wind - and a villain (who refused to be photographed for fear of incriminating himself!)
Two delicious biscuits act as fishcakes in the Japanese folktale of The Two Foolish Cats. Guaranteed to tempt two young assistants to help me - but who actually eats the biscuits is a surprise!
My recipe for Stone Soup requires a large wooden spoon, a flat grey stone and 5 picture-card ingredients (with a focus on adjectives) to be held by my assistant cooks!
