SIPO was an African boy.  He lived in a village with his family: his parents, brothers, sisters, and aunt.  They were all very nice to him – except his aunt.  Every day his aunt shouted at him, “Do this! Do that!”  She shouted so much that she frightened the birds!  Sipo didn’t like his aunt.  Sometimes he thought, “I’ll get some medicine and I’ll put it into her food to make her quiet.”  But he didn’t do it.
One day his aunt shouted, “You are a lazy boy! You are always playing your drum! You never work! You must go to the trees by the cliffs.  There is a lot of fruits there.”
Sipo didn’t want to go the trees by the cliffs.  He was frightened.  His friend said, “There is a strange animal there.  It lives in the caves.”
“Go! Go! Go!” said his aunt.  So he took a bag and his drum and went.  He walked and he walked and he walked. It was a long way to the cliffs.
At last he arrived.  The trees were full of fruit.  His aunt was right.  Sipo began to pick the fruit.  Suddenly he heard a noise!  He turned and there was a huge, strange animal!  His friend was right!  Sipo was frightened.  He took his drum and he began to beat it.
He played and played his drum! The strange animal stopped.  He was surprised!  He began to dance!   Sipo played and played and the strange animal danced and danced!  When Sipo was tired and stopped playing, the animal walked toward him. So he played again!  Sipo played all day; He played all afternoon.  At last it was night time, it was dark.  Suddenly, the monster stopped dancing and it turned and it walked into the dark bushes.
Sipo ran back home. He arrived in the village and his aunt shouted, “You lazy boy! Where is the fruit?”
But Sipo had no fruit.  His bag was on the ground by the tree by the cliffs.  So his aunt beat him with a stick.  “You lazy  boy, you played your drum, I know.  It’s true, isn’t it?  You lazy boy!”  And she beat him again.
Sipo told his father, “Father it is true.  There was a strange animal there.  I saw it.  I played my drum and it danced.  I couldn’t pick the fruit.”  “Tomorrow I will come with you, my son.”
The next morning, Sipo and his father and his mother and his aunt all walked to the cliffs.  There were the trees full of fruit.  “Give me your drum!” shouted his aunt and she tool it and tied I high in a tree.  “Aunt! Aunt!  The strange animal will come!”  Shut up, you lazy boy, and pick some fruit!”
Suddenly the strange animal came.  It went to Sipo’s father and ate him and then to Sipo’s mother and ate her.  Sipo’s aunt ran away and the strange animal ran after her and ate her too.  Sipo began to play faster and faster and the strange animal danced faster!
Suddenly the strange animal began to be sick… and Sipo’s father and then his mother came out of the strange animal ‘s mouth! Sipo was very happy!
.  “Your aunt is still inside him!” Sipo played  slowly.  “Play more quickly!” shouted his father and Sipo played faster and faster and suddenly, his aunt came out of the strange animal’s mouth!
The strange animal went into the dark bushes.  Sipo stopped playing and he and his mother and father and his aunt walked home.
His aunt was very quiet.  Sipo’s aunt never shouted again.  And sometimes, she even says: “Sipo’s a good boy!
