3 Magic Charms
Kamishibai (paper theatre in Japanese) is a traditional style of visual storytelling that is perfect for inexperienced tellers (teachers?)
Why? Because a text (in English and Chinese!) is printed on the back of each picture, giving you all the support you need to tell the story confidently and expressively.
Before the days of television, the kamishibai teller would cycle through the town with a frame on the back of his bike, pedalling sweets and stories! As he told each tale, he would remove the first picture and place it at the back of the frame. The text to accompany picture 2 was on the back of picture 1, providing a simple way for the teller to re-tell it.
These wonderfully produced tales are beautifully illustrated and come complete with a text to suit each picture printed on the back of every card.

Most are Japanese or Chinese folktales, except for Mother Cat, which is based on a true story from New York (she saves her 5 kittens from a burning building.)
