My first DVD

DON’T EAT YOUR LITTLE SISTER!

Enjoy six of my favourite Asian folktales (plus a bonus track of me telling Colourful as Rainbow, my version of The Clever Tailor) recorded in a two-camera studio shoot with excellent sound.

Working with my good friend Lucas Chew of MZA Prodctions as principal cameraman, I was very relaxed and able to play comfortably to the camera. The result is seven great stories recorded pretty much as I would tell them in performance, except that it is with the intimacy of the camera.

Running time : about 65 minutes
Don’t Eat Your Little Sister!
My signature telling of a hungry crocodile and a thirsty chicken!
The Uwabami
a brave young actor tries  to outwit the monstrous snake that wants to eat him with help from his Noh masks.
Father of Aloi Goes Hunting
a comic tale from Sarawak about a blow-pipe and hunting trip that gets Father of Aloi into big trouble!
It’s not fair!
A thought-provoking tale from Laos about an unhappy boatman and a wise King.
Chopsticks!
From Korea, a story about a soldier who discovers the difference between Heaven and Hell - thanks to a pair of chopsticks
Colourful as a Rainbow:
a resourceful tailor recycles his material again and again in a story that is about much more than a good suit!
Tongue Meat
Singapore is famed for its good food, but this story introduces two very unusual dishes!
